" Chicago Style " Hot Dog And Fries Recipe

Ingredients
  • celery salt, to taste .
  • 1 c fresh tomatoes, seeded & cut into wedges .
  • 8 pickle spears, kosher-style .
  • 1 c onions, sliced .
  • hot pepper, to taste (Sport peppers) .
  • 8 beef hot dogs, Vienna .
  • 2 lbs idaho potatoes, unpeeled & straight cut (3 inches long by 1/2-inch thickwashed & towel dried) .
  • 8 hotdog buns .
  • 1 c yellow mustard .
  • 1 c sweet pickle relish

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat the fryer.
  • Step #2 Fill a stock pot 3/4 of the way full with water & bring to a boil.
  • Step #3 Add the hot dogs, reduce the heat to a simmer & cover.
  • Step #4 Cook until the hot dogs are plump, about 6 to 8 mins.
  • Step #5 Fry the potatoes until golden brown, about 4 to 6 mins, stirring every once in awhile for even browning.
  • Step #6 Remove & drain on paper towels.
  • Step #7 Spice up with salt & pepper.
  • Step #8 Place the hot dogs in the buns.
  • Step #9 Start topping the hot dogs with 2 tbsps of each: onions, tomatoes, mustard & relish.
  • Step #10 Top with sport peppers to taste & sprinkle a little celery salt on top.
  • Step #11 Place each hot dog in the center of a piece of deli wrap.
  • Step #12 Place the fries next to the hot dog.
  • Step #13 Wrap the dog & the fries up tightly & serve.
