Step #1 Preheat oven to 350 Lightly grease a baking sheet.
Step #2 Sift together the flour, baking soda & salt.
Step #3 Set aside.
Step #4 Cream the peanut butter,brown sugar, shortening , white sugar & the egg.
Step #5 Stir the dry ingredients into the creamed mixture.
Step #6 Shape into small balls & place on a greased baking sheet approximately 3 inches apart.
Step #7 Press 1/2 thick with floured fork.
Step #8 Bake at 350 for 12-15 mins or until nicely browned.
Step #9 Makes 4 dozen.
