• 1/4 tsp baking soda .
• 1/2 c softened butter .
• 1/4 tsp salt .
• 3/4 c sugar .
• 1/2 tsp baking powder .
• 3/4 tsp vanilla .
• colored crystal sugar, for decorating .
• 1 1/4 c flour .
• 1 tbsp lemon zest, finely grated .
• 1 1/2 tbsps fresh lemon juice .
• 1 large egg

• Step #1 Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
• Step #2 Beat butter & sugar until fluffy.
• Step #3 Add egg, lemon zest, juice, vanilla & beat again.
• Step #4 In Separate bowl, Sift together Baking powder, baking soda, salt & flour.
• Step #5 Add dry ingredients to wet in two batches, until just mixed.
• Step #6 Drop by rounded tspfuls 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
• Step #7 Sprinkle top with colored sugar.
• Step #8 Bake for 10-12 mins until edges are lightly browned.
• Step #9 Cool on cookie sheet for 1 min then move to a cooling rack.
