Low Fat Granola Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 c applesauce .
  • 2 tbsps sliced almonds .
  • 1/2 c dried sweetened cranberries .
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil .
  • 3 c oats .
  • 1/3 c honey .
  • 1/2 c dried blueberries .
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon .
  • 1/4 tsp ginger .
  • 1/2 c wheat germ .
  • 2 c sweetened puffed wheat cereal .
  • 1/2 c dried apricots, sliced

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  • Step #2 Combine first 4 ingredients In a large-ish bowl.
  • Step #3 Combine applesauce, cinnamon, & ginger in a small sauce pan, oil, honey, & cook over med-heat/flame 2 mins or until honey is melted, stirring every once in awhile.
  • Step #4 Pour applesauce mixture over oat mixture, stirring to coat.
  • Step #5 Place mixture in a cookie sheet, & spread out.
  • Step #6 Bake for 20 mins.
  • Step #7 Gently stir & bake an extra 15 mins or until dry & browned.
  • Step #8 Cool.
  • Step #9 Stir in dried fruit.
  • Step #10 Store in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
