Toasted Pecan Frosting Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 c sliced pecans, toasted .
  • 2 c powdered sugar .
  • 1/4 c butter .
  • 1 tsp vanilla .
  • 1 (3 oz) package cream cheese, softened

Directions
  • Step #1 Melt 1/4 c butter in 1-quart saucepan over med-heat/flame.
  • Step #2 Cook, stirring constantly & watching closely, until butter just starts to turn golden (5 to 6 mins.
  • Step #3 Butter will get foamy & bubble.
  • Step #4 ) Remove from heat & cool completely.
  • Step #5 Combine browned butter, powdered sugar, cream cheese & vanilla in small bowl.
  • Step #6 Beat at lowish speed, scraping bowl often, until smooth (2 to 3 mins).
  • Step #7 Frost cooled bars.
  • Step #8 Sprinkle top with pecans.
