Brunch Puffs Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder .
  • 1 c sour cream .
  • 1/4 tsp dried basil .
  • 1 egg, beaten .
  • 6 oz shredded swiss cheese or monterey jack cheese .
  • 3 green onions, sliced (about 2/3 c) .
  • 6 oz bulk sausage, cooked .
  • sliced fresh parsley (to garnish) .
  • 2 tbsps dry white wine .
  • 2 tbsps flour .
  • 12 puff pastry shells .
  • paprika

Directions
  • Step #1 Bake patty shells according to package directions.
  • Step #2 Carefully remove pastry caps & set aside.
  • Step #3 Remove doughy centers & discard.
  • Step #4 Place shells on a baking sheet.
  • Step #5 Combine ham, egg, green onions, cheese, sour cream, wine, garlic powder & dried basil.
  • Step #6 Pack shells with filling.
  • Step #7 Sprinkle top with paprika.
  • Step #8 Bake in a 325F degree oven for 30 to 40 mins or until mixture is bubbling.
  • Step #9 Remove from oven & sprinkle with sliced parsley to garnish.
  • Step #10 Top with pastry cap if desired.
  • Step #11 This recipe yields 12 puffs.
  • Step #12 Do Ahead Tip: Bake patty shells & prepare filling a day ahead.
  • Step #13 Fill shells & bake just before serving.
  • Step #14 Variations: o Use Italian sausage or hot sausage.
  • Step #15 o Substitute 1/2 c sliced ham for sausage.
  • Step #16 o Substitute 1/2 lb bacon cooked, drained & crumbled, for sausage.
  • Step #17 o Add 1/4 c grated Parmesan cheese.
  • Step #18 o Add 1 tsp prepared French mustard.
