Turtle Brownies Recipe

Ingredients
  • 4 eggs .
  • 14 oz wrapped caramels .
  • 5 oz evaporated milk .
  • 1 c unsweetened cocoa powder .
  • 2 c white sugar .
  • 1 c all-purpose flour .
  • 1 c unsalted butter .
  • 2 c sliced pecans .
  • 2 tsps vanilla extract

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Step #2 Grease 13 x 9 inch baking pan.
  • Step #3 Mix the sugar, butter, eggs, & cocoa until just mixed.
  • Step #4 Slowly add flour & one tsp of the vanilla.
  • Step #5 Mix until just mixed.
  • Step #6 Spread batter in pan.
  • Step #7 In saucepan over low heat/flame melt caramels, with can of evaporated milk & remaining tsp of vanilla extract.
  • Step #8 Bake brownies for 5 mins.
  • Step #9 Remove from oven & pour all but a 1/4 c of the caramel over the brownies.
  • Step #10 Cut caramel into brownies with a knife.
  • Step #11 Pour sliced pecans over brownies & carefully press into brownie batter.
  • Step #12 Bake about 20 more mins.
  • Step #13 Do not over bake.
  • Step #14 Let cool on wire rack.
  • Step #15 Once brownies have cooled drizzle remaining caramel over the top.
  • Step #16 Let set for at least 10 mins before cutting.
