Grandpa Rondina's Meatballs And Sauce Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/4 tsp dried oregano .
  • MEATBALLS .
  • 1 garlic clove, pressed .
  • 1/2 c olive oil .
  • 1 small onion, minced .
  • 1/2 c milk .
  • 1/2 c breadcrumbs .
  • 1/4 tsp dried basil .
  • 1 1/2 tsps salt .
  • 1/4 tsp pepper .
  • 1/2 c italian tomato paste .
  • 1/4 c grated parmesan cheese .
  • salt & pepper .
  • 1/2 lb lean ground beef .
  • 1/2 lb reg. ground beef .
  • 1 bay leaf .
  • SAUCE .
  • 1/2 c water .
  • 2 c Italian tomatoes (I use whole) .
  • 1/2 tsp dried parsley .
  • 1 lb ground beef (browned & crumbled) .
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced

Directions
  • Step #1 To prepare sauce, heat olive oil; add in garlic & brown the ground beef.
  • Step #2 Once beef is cooked through add all extra ingredients for the sauce.
  • Step #3 Simmer on low heat for at least one hr before adding meatballs.
  • Step #4 to prepare meatballs: Just mix all ingredients in large bowl until well mixed.
  • Step #5 Shape into golf ball sized balls, you can stick them in the fridge until ready to add to the sauce.
  • Step #6 Once the sauce has simmered for atleast one hr drop the meatballs in carefully.
  • Step #7 They must simmer in the sauce (over low heat/flame) for atleast 3 hrs.
  • Step #8 This makes a wonderful tasting sauce.
  • Step #9 Serve over your favorite spaghetti noodle.
