Buttermilk Pecan Brownies With Sour Cream Frosting Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 c butter .
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon .
  • 1/4 c butter, softened .
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda .
  • 3 c sifted powdered sugar .
  • 3/4 c sugar .
  • 1 1/3 c flour .
  • chocolate curls (optional) .
  • 1 tsp vanilla .
  • 3/4 c packed brown sugar .
  • 1/2 c finely sliced toasted pecans .
  • 1/3 c sour cream .
  • 1 tsp vanilla .
  • 1/4 c buttermilk .
  • 3 eggs .
  • 5 oz semisweet chocolate, melted

Directions
  • Step #1 Grease 13x9x2 inch baking pan; set aside.
  • Step #2 In medium saucepan melt 1 c butter over low heat/flame.
  • Step #3 Cool slightly.
  • Step #4 Stir sugar & brown sugar into melted butter.
  • Step #5 Add eggs, one at a time, beat by hand until just mixd.
  • Step #6 Stir in buttermilk & vanilla.
  • Step #7 Stir together flour & baking soda.
  • Step #8 Add flour mixture to to egg mixture & stir until just mixd.
  • Step #9 Divide batter into two equal portions.
  • Step #10 Stir pecans into one portion & spread this part of batter into prepared pan.
  • Step #11 Bake at 350 degrees for 10 mins.
  • Step #12 Stir melted chocolate & cinnamon into remaining batter, mix well.
  • Step #13 Spread chocolate batter over partially baked brownies.
  • Step #14 Continue baking about 20 mins or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  • Step #15 Cool completely.
  • Step #16 Meanwhile, 1/4 c butter, prepare frosting by beating sour cream, & vanilla in electric mixer on lowish speed until smooth.
  • Step #17 Gradually add powdered sugar, beat on lowish speed until smooth & spreadable.
  • Step #18 Frost cooled brownies & garnish with chocolate curls if prefer.
