Step #1 In a large bowl, butter, mix together the shortening, sugar & brown sugar, using an electric mixture.
Step #2 Add the egg & vanilla & mix until creamy.
Step #3 In a small bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda & salt.
Step #4 Add the flour mixture to the creamed mixture & mix thoroughly.
Step #5 Add the chocolate chips & nuts & mix well.
Step #6 Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Step #7 Lightly grease 2 baking sheets.
Step #8 Drop dough with a large tbsp (should be the size of a golf ball.
Step #9 ) Allow plenty of space for the cookies to spread out as they bake.
Step #10 Bake for 12 to 15 mins at 375 degrees.
