Step #1 Preheat oven to 350°F
In a heavy skillet cook sugar over medium-high heat until sugar begins to melt, shaking the skillet every once in awhile to heat the sugar evenly.
Step #2 Do not stir.
Step #3 Once the sugar starts to melt, reduce heat to low & cook about 5 mins more or until all of the sugar is melted & golden, stirring as needed with a wooden spoon.
Step #4 Immediately pour this into an ungreased 9-inch round baking pan; tilting to coat bottom completely.
Step #5 In medium bowl, mix egg substitute & water; stir in the condensed milk, vanilla & salt.
Step #6 Pour over caramelized sugar in pan.
Step #7 Set pan In a large-ishr pan.
Step #8 Fill larger pan with 1-inch boiling water.
Step #9 Bake 50 mins or until knife inserted near center comes out clean.
Step #10 Cool.
Step #11 Chill at least 2 hrs.
Step #12 To serve, loosen side of flan with knife; invert onto serving plate with rim.
