Ingredients
1 (12 oz) bottle chili sauce .
2 tbsps worcestershire sauce .
1 (5 lb) beef brisket .
1 tbsp brown sugar, packed .
2 large onions, cut into 1/4-inch slices, seprated into rings .
1/2 tsp black pepper, freshly ground .
1/2 c beef broth or beer or water .
4 garlic cloves, minced
Directions
Step #1 Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Step #2 Place meat, fat side up in a roasting pan.
Step #3 Spread garlic evenly over meat.
Step #4 Sprinkle top with pepper.
Step #5 Arrange onions over brisket.
Step #6 Combine chili sauce, broth, Worcestershire sauce & sugar; pour over brisket & onions.
Step #7 Cover up with heavy duty foil wrap or lid to the roasting pan.
Step #8 Roast 2 hrs & then turn meat over; stir onions into sauce & spoon over brisket.
Step #9 Cover up again & roast another 1-2 hrs until fork-tender.
Step #10 If you want to add potatoes or carrots as mentioned in the desription, do so in the last hr of cooking.
Step #11 Transfer meat to a cutting board & tent with foil wrap.
Step #12 Let meat rest for 10 mins.
Step #13 Slice on the diagonal, against the grain of the meat, & place this into the sauce.
