Soy Sauce Chicken Wings Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 tbsp sugar .
  • 1 leek, cut up .
  • 2-3 red chili peppers, dried .
  • 2 1/2 c water .
  • 12-18 chicken wings (2-3 lbs.) .
  • 1/2 tsp five-spice powder .
  • 1 (10 oz) bottle soy sauce .
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced .
  • 4 slices gingerroot .
  • 1 tbsp vinegar

Directions
  • Step #1 Rinse chicken wings; pat dry with paper towels.
  • Step #2 Cut off & discard tips of chicken wings.
  • Step #3 In a kettle, five-spice powder, sugar, chili peppers, gingerroot, soy sauce, leek, vinegar, mix water, & garlic.
  • Step #4 Bring to boiling.
  • Step #5 Add chicken.
  • Step #6 Return to boiling; reduce heat.
  • Step #7 Simmer, covered 20 to 25 mins or until chicken is no longer pink.
  • Step #8 Remove chicken with a slotted spoon.
  • Step #9 Serve hot or chilled.
