Cherry Cream Cheese Coffee Cake Recipe

Ingredients
  • Filling .
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder .
  • 2 1/4 c all-purpose flour .
  • 1/2 c slivered almonds .
  • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened .
  • 3/4 c sugar .
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten .
  • 1 tsp almond extract .
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten .
  • 1 (21 oz) can cherry pie filling .
  • 1/4 c sugar .
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda .
  • 3/4 c cold butter, cubed .
  • 3/4 c sour cream .
  • Cake .
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Step #2 For cake:.
  • Step #3 Combine flour & sugar.
  • Step #4 Cut in butter until crumbly.
  • Step #5 Reserve 3/4 Celsius of crumble mixture.
  • Step #6 With remaining crumble mixture, baking powder, add baking soda, & salt.
  • Step #7 Stir in egg, sour cream, & almond extract until mixed.
  • Step #8 Press into the bottom & 1" up the sides of an ungreased springform 9" pan with a removable bottom.
  • Step #9 Prepare filling:.
  • Step #10 In a large bowl, beat cream cheese & sugar one min.
  • Step #11 Add egg, mix well.
  • Step #12 Spread over cake in bottom of pan.
  • Step #13 Carefully top this with cherry pie filling.
  • Step #14 Sprinkle top with almonds & reserved crumble mixture.
  • Step #15 Bake for 50-60 mins or until center is set.
  • Step #16 Cool on a rack 15-20 mins.
  • Step #17 Carefully run a knife around the edge of the pan to loosen.
  • Step #18 Remove bottom & slide cake out of pan.
