Brown Rice Pilaf Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 tsps basil .
  • 3/4 c frozen corn .
  • 1 onion, sliced .
  • 3/4 c frozen peas .
  • 2 large garlic cloves, sliced .
  • 1 1/2 tsps oregano .
  • 1 1/2 tsps olive oil .
  • 1 c brown rice .
  • salt & pepper .
  • 1 large carrot, sliced

Directions
  • Step #1 saute onion & garlic in oil until onion is translucent, about five mins.
  • Step #2 Stir frequently to prevent onion & garlic from burning.
  • Step #3 Add carrot & let saute 3 more mins.
  • Step #4 Add brown rice & stir until rice is coated with the olive oil.
  • Step #5 Cover up with about 2 c of water, pepper, salt, & add the corn, peas, basil & oregano.
  • Step #6 Let it come to a boil & then let it simmer until ready.
  • Step #7 Stir every once in awhile to prevent the bottom from sticking to the pot.
