Step #1 Mix together the split peas & the lentils, cover with water & cook till soft & mushy.
Step #2 In the meantime heat the oil in a wok andfry the onions till golden.
Step #3 Stir in the garlic, ginger , turmeric, garam masala, chilli powder, ground coriander & salt.
Step #4 Stir well & add the chicken & fry for 6 mins.
Step #5 Add 11/2 tbsp of the fresh coriander leaves, green chilli, lemon juice & the water cook for 5 mins
Mix in the lentils (dhal),tomatoes & the remaining coriander leaves.
Step #6 Turn off the heat.
Step #7 Heat the oil in a small pan & add the cumin seeds, red chillies, & the curry leaves, when they syart to pop add the garlic, cook for 1 min Pour over the the chicken & lentils & serve.
