Ingredients
  • 6 tb Cider vinegar
  • 3 c Apple cider
  • 3/4 c Golden brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 c Packed dried apple chunks;
  • 1 Bone-in water-added ham; butt portion
  • 3 tb Dijon Mustard

Directions
  • Step #1 preheat your trusty oven to 325F.
  • Step #2 Place ham in roasting pan & bake this until thermometer inserted into thickest part of ham registers 150F.
  • Step #3 , about 15 mins per lb.
  • Step #4 Cool ham completely.
  • Step #5 (Can be prepared 3 days ahead.
  • Step #6 Cover & chill.
  • Step #7 ) Bring cider & apples to boil in heavy medium saucepan over medium-high heat.
  • Step #8 Boil until liquid is reduced to scant 1 1/2 c, about 8 mins.
  • Step #9 Whisk sugar, vinegar & mustard in small bowl until mixed.
  • Step #10 Add to cider mixture.
  • Step #11 Simmer sauce until reduced to 2 1/4 c, stirring every once in awhile, about 6 mins.
  • Step #12 (Can be made 1 day ahead.
  • Step #13 Cover & chill.
  • Step #14 ) preheat your trusty oven to 375F.
  • Step #15 Cut eight 1/2-inch-thick ham slices from bone.
  • Step #16 Overlap ham slices in glass baking dish.
  • Step #17 Spoon sauce over.
  • Step #18 bake this until ham is heated through & sauce bubbles, about 25 mins.
  • Step #19 Transfer to platter & serve.
  • Step #20 Serves 8.
