Adobe Grilled Turkey Planks Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 Egg; lightly beaten
  • 3/4 c Yellow cornmeal
  • 1/2 ts Baking soda
  • 3/4 ts Baking powder
  • 1 c Plain nonfat yogurt
  • 8 3/4 oz Corn Kernels; drained
  • 1/2 ts Salt
  • 1 Egg white; lightly beaten
  • 3/4 c All-purpose flour
  • 1 ts Chili powder
  • 4 oz sliced green chile peppers; drained
  • 2 1/2 tb Vegetable oil

Directions
  • Step #1 Pour oil in a 9-inch cast-iron skillet, tilting to coat sides of skillet.
  • Step #2 place this in a 400F deg oven for 5 mins; set aside.
  • Step #3 mix flour & next 5 ingredients in a bowl; stir well.
  • Step #4 Make a well in center of mixture.
  • Step #5 mix yogurt & next 4 ingredients; add to dry ingredients, stirring until dry ingredients are moistened.
  • Step #6 Add hot oil to batter; stir until well mixd.
  • Step #7 Pour batter into skillet.
  • Step #8 bake this at 400F for 25 mins or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
  • Step #9 Yield: 12 servings (serving size: 1 wedge).
