Chocolate Mint Brownies Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 c butter, softened
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 1/2 c confectioners' sugar
  • 1 c semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 c white sugar
  • 1/2 c butter, melted
  • 6 tbsps butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 tbsps creme de menthe liqueur
  • 1 (16 oz) can chocolate syrup
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 c all-purpose flour

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat oven to 325F degrees F (165 degrees C).
  • Step #2 Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  • Step #3 In a large bowl, mix together 1 c of white sugar & 1/2 c of butter until smooth.
  • Step #4 Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the the vanilla & chocolate syrup.
  • Step #5 Combine the salt & flour; mix into the batter just until mixed.
  • Step #6 Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan.
  • Step #7 Bake for 25 mins in the preheated oven, until the brownies begin to pull away from the sides of the pan.
  • Step #8 Let cool.
  • Step #9 In a medium bowl, mix together 1/2 c melted butter & confectioners' sugar until smooth.
  • Step #10 Stir in creme de menthe liqueur.
  • Step #11 Spread over the cooled brownies & allow this to cool completely.
  • Step #12 Combine the chocolate chips & remaining butter in a microwave safe dish.
  • Step #13 Heat for 1 min in the microwave, stir, then continue to heat at 30 second intervals, stirring each time, until melted & smooth.
  • Step #14 Spread over the top of the brownies.
  • Step #15 Allow to cool completely before cutting into 2 inch squares.
