Banana Pudding Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/4 c Cold water
  • 2 tb Cornstarch
  • 1/4 c Banana liqueur
  • 1/4 c Amaretto liqueur
  • 6 Ripe bananas; sliced
  • 4 Egg yolks
  • 1 Box vanilla wafers
  • 2 tb Vanilla extract
  • 1 qt Heavy cream
  • 1 c Sugar

Directions
  • Step #1 In a medium sized heavy bottomed saucepan bring heavy cream to a boil.
  • Step #2 Reduce heat.
  • Step #3 Mix together water & cornstarch until you have a slurry & whisk into the hot cream.
  • Step #4 Add sugar, vanilla, & liqueurs.
  • Step #5 Whisk continuously.
  • Step #6 Add egg yolks & continue to vigurously whisk the mixture, making sure to not scramble the yolks.
  • Step #7 Let custard lighlty simmer for approximately 8 mins.
  • Step #8 remove this from the heat.
  • Step #9 Using a medium casserole pan or bowl, layer wafers & bananas (alternating wafers & bananas).
  • Step #10 Wafers should be used for first and last layer.
  • Step #11 Pour custard over wafers & sliced bananas.
  • Step #12 put in the fridge allowing banana pudding to set.
