Black Barley Pilaf W Sweet Spices, Bananas And Oranges Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 c Milk
  • 2 c All-purpose flour
  • 8 oz Vanilla frosting;
  • 1 c Semisweet chocolate chips; melted
  • 1 ts Vanilla extract
  • 8 oz Chocolate frosting;
  • 1/2 ts Baking powder
  • 2 Squares; unsweetened baking chocolate, melted
  • 1 c Sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1/2 c Vegetable shortening

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Step #2 Coat baking sheets with nonstick cooking spray.
  • Step #3 In a large bowl, with an electric beater on medium speed, cream the shortening & sugar until light & creamy; beat in the eggs.
  • Step #4 Add the flour, baking powder, & vanilla, mixing well.
  • Step #5 stir in the the melted baking chocolate, melted chocolate chips, & the milk; mix well.
  • Step #6 Drop by 1/4-c measures onto the cookie sheets and bake for 7 to 10 mins, or until the cookies are firm.
  • Step #7 Remove to wire racks to cool.
  • Step #8 Frost the flat side of each cookie half with vanilla frosting & half with chocolate frosting.
  • Step #9 NOTE: The leftover icing should keep in the refrigerator for weeks.
