Step #1 INTRO - One of the great delights of these burgers is their wonderful aroma as they cook.
Step #2 1) Place bulgur in a small bowl & cover with boiling water.
Step #3 Let stand 10 mins.
Step #4 Drain well.
Step #5 Place soaked bulgur in a food processor/blender with the beans, jalapeno, parsley, salt, onion, chili powder, garlic, olive oil, cumin & pepper.
Step #6 Process until smooth, scraping down the sides of the bowl as necessary.
Step #7 2) Form bean mixture into 4 patties.
Step #8 Carefully dredge patties in the cornmeal.
Step #9 Heat oil in a nonstick skillet over med-heat/flame.
Step #10 Add patties & cook, turning to brown both sides, about 5 mins.
Step #11 3) While bean patties are cooking, mash the avocado in a small bowl & stir in the salsa & cilantro.
Step #12 4) To serve, top this with avocado mixture, place bean patties on rolls, sliced tomato & green onions.
Step #13 EACH: 531 cals, (22g fiber), 25% from fat, 86g carbs, (15g total fat), 20g protein.
