Bohemian Dumplings Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 ts Caraway seed
  • 3/4 c All-purpose flour
  • 27 oz Sauerkraut
  • 2 lb Beef stew meat; cut into 1" pcs.
  • 1 ts Paprika
  • 1 ts Salt
  • 2 tb Cooking oil
  • 1 Clove garlic; minced
  • 1/2 c Water
  • extra paprika
  • 1/4 ts Pepper
  • 2 md Onions; sliced
  • 1 ts Dill weed
  • 1 c Sour cream

Directions
  • Step #1 In a bowl or plastic bag, mix flour, salt & pepper.
  • Step #2 Add beef; dredge or shake to coat.
  • Step #3 In a Dutch oven, half at a time, brown the beef, in oil; drain.
  • Step #4 Add onions, caraway, dill, garlic, paprika and water.
  • Step #5 Cover & let simmer for 2 hrs or until meat is tender, stirring every once in awhile.
  • Step #6 stir in the sour cream; heat through but do not boil.
  • Step #7 Heat sauerkraut; drain & spoon onto a serving platter.
  • Step #8 top this with the beef mixture.
  • Step #9 Sprinkle top with paprika.
