Braised Hand Of Pork With Rice And Oriental Flavours Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 tb Honey
  • 1 ts Ginger
  • 1 c White wine
  • 8 lb Semi-boneless ready to serve ham
  • 1 ts Dry mustard
  • Grated rind of 1 orange
  • 15 Whole cloves
  • 3 c Orange juice

Directions
  • Step #1 1.
  • Step #2 Trim skin & excess fat from ham, leaving about 1/4 inch covering of fat over ham.
  • Step #3 Insert cloves into fat side of ham; place in roasting pan, fat side up.
  • Step #4 2.
  • Step #5 mix orange juice, wine & orange rind; set 1/2 c aside and pour remaining mixture over ham.
  • Step #6 Set roasting pan on top of stove & bring liquid to boil, then place this in 325?F oven for 1 1/2 hrs, basting every once in awhile.
  • Step #7 3.
  • Step #8 mix reserved liquid, honey, ginger & mustard; stir until smooth.
  • Step #9 Pour over ham & bake for 30 mins, basting every once in awhile.
  • Step #10 Makes about 12 servings.
