Butterscotch Bread Puddings Recipe

Ingredients
  • 3 c Half-inch cubes white bread
  • 3/4 c Dark brown sugar -;
  • 1 1/2 ts Vanilla
  • 3 tb Unsalted butter
  • 1 ts Salt
  • Vanilla ice cream;
  • 3 lg Eggs
  • 3 lg Egg yolks
  • 3 3/4 c Half-and-half

Directions
  • Step #1 preheat your trusty oven to 350 degrees.
  • Step #2 Butter a 2- to 3-quart baking dish and evenly spread out the bread cubes.
  • Step #3 In a saucepan mix the half-and-half, butter, salt & vanilla & heat until hot over moderate heat.
  • Step #4 In a bowl whisk together sugar, & yolks and add hot half-and-half mixture in a stream, eggs, whisking constantly.
  • Step #5 Pour mixture over bread cubes.
  • Step #6 Bake pudding in middle of oven about 40 to 45 mins, or until puffed & golden.
  • Step #7 Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
  • Step #8 This recipe yields 6 servings.
