Caramelized Onion Tart Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 Anchovy
  • Freshly-ground black pepper; to taste
  • Drizzle of extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1/4 c Grated Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese
  • Salt; to taste
  • 1 tb Butter
  • 4 Basic; pie dough rounds
  • 12 Nicoise olives; pitted, halved
  • 2 c Julienne yellow onions
  • 1/4 c Goat's cheese
  • 1/4 c Roasted garlic

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat the oven to 400F degrees.
  • Step #2 Place the dough rounds on a parchment-lined baking sheet pan.
  • Step #3 In a saute pan, over med-heat/flame, melt the butter.
  • Step #4 Add the onions.
  • Step #5 Spice up this with salt & pepper.
  • Step #6 Saute until caramelized, about 8 mins.
  • Step #7 remove this from the heat & cool.
  • Step #8 In a mixing bowl, mix the garlic & anchovy.
  • Step #9 Using the back of a spoon, mash the anchovy & mix thoroughly.
  • Step #10 Spice up this with black pepper.
  • Step #11 Spread the roasted garlic mixture, evenly over the dough.
  • Step #12 Spread the caramelized onions over the garlic mixture.
  • Step #13 Crumble the goat's cheese over the onion mixture.
  • Step #14 Sprinkle top with the Parmesan cheese.
  • Step #15 Place 6 olive halves over each round & drizzle with the olive oil.
  • Step #16 Bake until golden brown, about 8 mins.
  • Step #17 Serve warm.
