Ingredients
  • 2 tb Olive oil
  • 1/2 Frozen puff pastry sheets; thawed
  • 3 lb Large sweet onions; sliced
  • 1/2 c Shredded Parmesan cheese Garnish: fresh rosemary sprigs
  • 1 ts Salt

Directions
  • Step #1 COOK onion in hot oil in a large skillet over low heat/flame, stirring often, 30 to 35 mins or until onion is caramel colored.
  • Step #2 stir in the salt, and set mixture aside.
  • Step #3 UNFOLD pastry sheet; fit into a 9-inch square tart pan.
  • Step #4 bake this at 4000 for 15 to 20 mins or until browned.
  • Step #5 remove this from oven.
  • Step #6 Press pastry with the back of a spoon to flatten.
  • Step #7 top this with caramelized onion; Sprinkle top with Parmesan cheese.
  • Step #8 Bake 5 more mins.
  • Step #9 Garnish, if desired.
