Step #2 Place the chocolate & cherries in separate bowls.
Step #3 Cover and put in the fridge.

Step #5 Whisk the eggs in a mixing bowl until light & fluffy, 1 to 2 mins.
Step #6 Whisk in the sugar, then continue whisking until completely mixed, a little at a time, about one min more.
Step #7 Pour in the cream & milk.
Step #8 Whisk to mix.

Step #10 Transfer the mixture to an ice cream maker & freeze according to the manufacturer's instructions.
Step #11 4.
Step #12 After the ice cream stiffens (about 2 mins before it is done), add the chocolate & the cherries, then continue freezing until the ice cream is ready.
