Chicken Potpie In A Pumpkin Recipe

Ingredients
  • --FILLLING-----
  • 4 Chicken bouillon cubes
  • 1 c Carrots; sliced
  • 1/2 c Onion; sliced
  • 1 c Potatoes; sliced
  • 1 Qtbsp Water
  • 1 c Celery; sliced
  • 4 c Chicken; cooked & sliced

Directions
  • Step #1 Bring to boil & let simmer 20 mins.
  • Step #2 Add 1/2 c frozen peas.
  • Step #3 Return to boil & let simmer 10 mins; drain & reserve liquid for gravy.
  • Step #4 Add more water if necessary to make at least 3 c of stock.
  • Step #5 mix 1/3 c fat (margarine, butter or vegetable oil) & 6 tbsps flour; met fatbsp.
  • Step #6 Add flour & bubble for 1 min.
  • Step #7 Add stock.
  • Step #8 Heat until thickened, stirring constantly.
  • Step #9 Pour over meat & vegetables.
  • Step #10 Serve over baking powder biscuits.

  • Step #12 Double recipe.
  • Step #13 Roll out & press into 3-quart casserole dish.
  • Step #14 Cut 1 piece for top & place on cookie sheetbsp.
  • Step #15 Bake shell & top until golden brown.
  • Step #16 Pour filling into dish & top.
  • Step #17 Puff Pastry: Roll our puff pastry.
  • Step #18 Cut 2 pieces same size as serving dish.
  • Step #19 Bake on cookie sheetbsp.
  • Step #20 Place one sheet in bottom of dish and fill with chicken filling.
  • Step #21 top this with remaining piece.
