Chicken Stock Recipe

Ingredients
  • 8 c Water
  • 4 Springs thyme
  • 2 lb Chicken bones; rinsed
  • 3 Cloves garlic; sliced
  • 2 Onions; roughly sliced
  • 2 Carrots; roughly sliced
  • 1 Bay leaf
  • 3 Stalks celery; roughly sliced

Directions
  • Step #1 In a large stockpot over high heat, celery, bring the bones, onions, garlic, carrots, thyme, & water just to a boil.
  • Step #2 Add the bay leaf.
  • Step #3 Reduce the heat & let simmer for 4 to 6 hrs, or until the stock is richly flavored.
  • Step #4 Strain through a fine sieve into a bowl & use as soon as possible, or allow this to cool to about room temp before refrigerating.
  • Step #5 This stock keeps in the refrigerator for up to one week & can be frozen.
  • Step #6 Makes about 4 c/1 L/32 fl oz.
