Chili Under A Corn Bread Blanket Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 lg Onion - sliced
  • 2 ts Schwartz Oregano
  • 1 1/2 ts Schwartz Ground Cumin
  • 2 tb Tomato puree
  • 1 Green pepper - sliced
  • 1/2 ts Schwartz Garlic Granules
  • 1 14 oz ti sliced tomatoes;
  • 1/4 ts Schwartz Cinnamon
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tb Cooking oil
  • 1 1/2 ts Schwartz Hot Chili Powder
  • 1 14 oz ti kidney beans - drained;
  • 1 lb Minced beef;

Directions
  • Step #1 --TO SERVE----- 8 Taco shells; (8 to 12) Shredded lettuce 1/4 pt Soured cream; (150ml) 4 oz Mature Cheddar cheese - -grated.
  • Step #2 ; (100g) Heat the oil in a large frying pan & fry the onion & pepper to soften.
  • Step #3 Add the minced beef & Garlic Granules & fry until browned.
  • Step #4 stir in the the tomatoes, kidney beans, spices, tomato puree, Oregano & salt.
  • Step #5 Simmer uncovered for 20-30 mins, stirring every once in awhile.
  • Step #6 To serve, heat the taco shells in a warm oven for 2-3 mins.
  • Step #7 Divide the chili beef mixture between the shells, garnishing with shredded lettuce, soured cream & grated Cheddar cheese.
  • Step #8 Quantity: Makes 8 - 12 Tacos.
