Chipotle Glaze / Ketchup / Barbeque Sauce Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 ts Rice vinegar; or lemon juice
  • 1 pk Lite silken tofu;
  • 2 Canned chilpotles;
  • 1 ts Honey; , or brown rice syrup
  • 1 ts Adobo sauce from the can; or to taste

Directions
  • Step #1 Assemble ingredients in mixer/processor & whir til smooth.
  • Step #2 Adjust Spice upings to taste.
  • Step #3 serve this with crackers, spread on sandwiches or burgers, or put a dollop on a bowl of gazpacho.
  • Step #4 VARIATIONS: Instead of using tofu, try non-fat cream cheese (skip the honey), or mix the chilpotles into non-fat mayonnaise.
  • Step #5 NOTE: Chilpotle con Adobo, or Chiles Chilpotle con Escabeche, is smoked jalapeno in a Spice uped tomato sauce.
  • Step #6 It's usually found in Hispanic markets or natural food stores & commonly packed in 7 oz cans.
  • Step #7 The brands I have found so far are Del Monte, Embasa, and Ensanmar.
  • Step #8 They have all been satisfactory.
  • Step #9 You can puree them & use them in many recipes that call for chilpotles.
