Chocolate Buttercream Filling Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 ts Salt
  • 1/2 c Butter or margarine - ; softened
  • 4 Squares Unsweetened chocolate -;
  • 2 ts Vanilla
  • 4 c Sifted powdered sugar; sift then measure
  • 1/4 c Milk

Directions
  • Step #1 Melt chocolate over hot water or in the microwave oven.
  • Step #2 Set aside until cool.
  • Step #3 mix butter, salt, sugar, vanilla & milk.
  • Step #4 With a mixing spoon or on lowish speed of an electric mixer, beat until smooth.
  • Step #5 Add melted chocolate; beat until thick enough to spread.
  • Step #6 If necessary, add more milk for proper spreading consistency.
  • Step #7 Use as directed in Viennese Continentals (see recipe).
