Chocolate Espresso Torte Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 c Packed Dark Brown Sugar; Divided
  • 1/2 c Evaporated Skim Milk
  • 1/4 c Vegetable Oil
  • 1 c Boiling Water
  • 5 tb Unsweetened Cocoa; Divided
  • 1/2 ts Baking Soda
  • 1 1/2 ts Instant Espresso Powder; Divided
  • 1 ts Vanilla Extract
  • 1 c All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 1/2 ts Baking Powder

Directions
  • Step #1 mix 1/2 c sugar, 2 tbsps cocoa, baking powder, flour, 1 tbsp espresso powder, & baking soda in a medium bowl; stir well.
  • Step #2 mix milk, & vanilla; add to flour mixture, oil, & stir well.
  • Step #3 Spoon batter into an 8 inch square baking pan.
  • Step #4 mix 1/2 c sugar, & 1/2 tbsps cocoa, 3 tbsps cocoa, & 1/2 tbsp espresso powder; stir well.
  • Step #5 Sprinkle top it over batter.
  • Step #6 Pour boiling water over batter (do not stir).
  • Step #7 bake this at 350? for 30 mins or until cake springs back when touched lightly in center.
  • Step #8 Serve cake warm or at room temperature.
