Chocolate Hazelnut Pound Cake With Shiny Chocolate Glaze Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 tb Roasted hazelnuts or pecan nuts;
  • 1 tb Caster sugar
  • 250 g Dark chocolate
  • 1 pn Cream of tartar
  • 5 lg Eggs whites & yolks separated
  • 1 ts Orange rind; and extra for garnish

Directions
  • Step #1 Melt the chocolate in a bowl over a saucepan of hot water.
  • Step #2 Once melted, remove & allow this to cool a little.
  • Step #3 Add egg yolks, one at a time, & mix in.
  • Step #4 Add in orange rind.
  • Step #5 Beat egg whites, caster sugar & cream of tartar until it forms soft peaks & fold into the chocolate mixture.
  • Step #6 Add roasted pecan or hazelnuts.
  • Step #7 Pour the mixture into individual bowls & put in the fridge.
  • Step #8 serve this with sour cream, mint & grated orange rind.
