Chocolate Meringue Kisses Recipe

Ingredients
  • 3/4 c Granulated sugar
  • 3 lg Egg whites
  • 1/4 c Confectioners sugar;
  • 1/8 ts Cream of tarter
  • 3 tb Unsweetened cocoa powder

Directions
  • Step #1 1.
  • Step #2 preheat your trusty oven to 375 degrees F.
  • Step #3 2.
  • Step #4 Cover 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • Step #5 3.
  • Step #6 Place the egg whites & cream of tartar in a medium bowl.
  • Step #7 Beat with an electric mixer on medium speed until soft peaks form.
  • Step #8 slowly beat in the granulated sugar & beat on high speed until the whites are stiff & shiny.
  • Step #9 4.
  • Step #10 Sift cocoa over the egg whites & carefully fold in until just mixed.
  • Step #11 5.
  • Step #12 Drop tbspfuls of batter, 1 inch apart, on the prepared baking sheets.
  • Step #13 Bake for 30 to 35 mins or until the cookies are dry.
  • Step #14 Carefully peel the cookies from the paper & cool on a wire rack.
  • Step #15 When cool, Sprinkle top the cookies with confectioners sugar (if using).
  • Step #16 Store, covered at about room temp.
