Coneysland Sauce Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 tbsps white sugar
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1/4 tsp hot pepper sauce
  • 1/4 tsp celery seed
  • 1 tbsp water
  • 1/4 c ketchup
  • 2 tbsps prepared mustard
  • 2 tbsps cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 lb ground beef

Directions
  • Step #1 In a large skillet over medium high heat, saute the ground beef & onion for 5 to 10 mins, or until meat is well browned.
  • Step #2 Crumble meat to a fine texture with a fork, if necessary; drain excess fat.
  • Step #3 Stir in the mustard, vinegar, sugar, water, Worcestershire sauce, celery seed, hot pepper sauce & ketchup.
  • Step #4 Mix well reduce heat to low & let simmer, uncovered, for 35 to 40 mins.
