Christmas Parfait Recipe

Ingredients
  • 15 g Butter; melted
  • 1 tb Icing sugar
  • 1 411 gram jar mincemeat;
  • 1 pk Filo pastry; defrosted
  • Grated rind of 1 orange

Directions
  • Step #1 1.
  • Step #2 Preheat the oven to 190 C, 375 F, Gas Mark 5.
  • Step #3 2.
  • Step #4 Trim the pastry sheets & cut into approximately 24 x 15cm (6 inch) squares.
  • Step #5 3.
  • Step #6 Place 3 filo pastry squares on top of each other at a slight angle to form a 12 pointed "star".
  • Step #7 4.
  • Step #8 Place a heaped tbsp of the mincemeat mixture in the centre & add a little grated orange rind.
  • Step #9 Carefully pick up the pastry corners to enclose the filling & press together to form a "parcel".
  • Step #10 5.
  • Step #11 Repeat with the remaining pastry & mincemeat to make 8 parcels.
  • Step #12 Arrange on a baking tray & lightly brush the parcels with melted butter.
  • Step #13 6.
  • Step #14 place this in the preheated oven on the middle oven shelf for 10-15 mins until crisp & golden.
  • Step #15 7.
  • Step #16 Serve hot or cold.
  • Step #17 Dust with icing sugar before serving.
