Cincinnati Chili Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 tb Oil
  • 2 ts Cayenne Pepper
  • 1 1/2 tb Vinegar
  • 2 1/2 lb Ground Beef
  • Salt & Pepper to taste
  • 1 ts L & P Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 6 oz Tomato Paste
  • 2 lg Onion;
  • 1 1/2 tb Unsweetened Cocoa
  • 2 tb Chili Powder
  • 1 ts Allspice
  • 1 qt Coldwater
  • 2 ts Cinnamon
  • 1 Clove Garlic;
  • 5 Bay Leaves

Directions
  • Step #1 In a heavy guage pot - heat oil, add beef until brown, add onions and water & bring to a boil.
  • Step #2 Reduce to a simmer & add tomato paste & all other ingredients & let simmer 1 1/2 - 2 hrs.
  • Step #3 Adjust with salt & pepper to taste.
  • Step #4 Remove Bay Leaves before serving.
