Cincinnati-style Chili Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/4 ts Nutmeg
  • 2 ts Cider vinegar
  • 1 1/2 tb Onion powder
  • 1 1/2 c Cooked spaghetti
  • 3/4 c Kidney beans; rinsed & drained
  • 1 1/2 tb Minced garlic
  • Nonfat cooking spray
  • 1 1/2 ts Cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 c Tomato sauce
  • 1 lb Morningstar Farms Burger Crumbles
  • 1 1/4 tb Unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3/4 c Shredded Cheddar cheese;
  • 3/4 c Water
  • 2 tb Chili powder

Directions
  • Step #1 Lightly spray a large saucepan with nonfat cooking spray & heat over medium heat.
  • Step #2 Add Burger Crumbles, onion powder, & minced garlic and cook this until browned.
  • Step #3 Add tomato sauce, water, cocoa, chili powder, vinegar, cinnamon, & nutmeg.
  • Step #4 Heat over medium-high heat to boiling.
  • Step #5 Reduce heat to low, cover, & let simmer 15 to 20 mins until sauce thickens.
  • Step #6 stir in the beans & mix lightly.
  • Step #7 Spoon cooked spaghetti into bowls & top this with chili.
  • Step #8 Sprinkle top with cheese if desired.
  • Step #9 NOTES : Nonfat if not using cheese or if using fat-free cheese.
