Ingredients
  • 2 Whole Garlic heads; split in half
  • 2 Bay leaves
  • 5 c Vegetable oil
  • 1 lb Wild & exotic mushrooms; sliced
  • Salt; to taste
  • 1 tb Black peppercorns
  • 5 Sprigs Fresh thyme

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat the oven to 200 degrees.
  • Step #2 Place the mushrooms in a stainless baking pan, 9- by 13-inches.
  • Step #3 Pour the vegetable oil over the mushrooms.
  • Step #4 Tie the remaining ingredients together in cheesecloth, forming a small pouch.
  • Step #5 Tie the pouch with butcher's twine.
  • Step #6 Place the bouquet garni in the oil & cover with foil.
  • Step #7 place this in the oven and cook for 2 hrs.
  • Step #8 Drain the mushrooms reserving the oil.
  • Step #9 This recipe yields 1 lb.
