Cornish Splits (splytys Kernewek) Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 ts Caster sugar
  • 1 ts Salt
  • 2 oz Trex;
  • 1/2 pt Milk
  • 1 lb White flour
  • 1 oz Yeast

Directions
  • Step #1 Warm the milk.
  • Step #2 Cream together the sugar & they yeast, & mix with the milk.
  • Step #3 Sieve the flour & salt together, rub in the Trex, & add to the liquid mixture to form a soft dough.
  • Step #4 Knead thoroughly and leave in a warm place to rise.
  • Step #5 Knead again & shape into round buns.
  • Step #6 Lightly flour a baking tray, put the buns on the tray, & leave to rise for another hr.
  • Step #7 Bake for about 15 mins at 400F.
