Ingredients
1/2 lb Cream cheese
1 ts sliced chives
1 tb Finely minced garlic
1 tb Olive oil
1 c Finely minced yellow onion
1 ts sliced parsley
2 tb Heavy cream
1 lb Lump crabmeat
1 ds Salt; freshly ground black pepper and cayenne pepper
1 ts sliced basil
Directions
Step #1 HERB TOASTS--- 3/4 c Olive oil 2 ts Mashed garlic 1 tb Very finely minced chives 1 tb Very finely minced basil 1 tb Very finely minced parsley 1/2 ts Salt 1/2 ts Freshly ground black pepper 1 Long loaf of fresh; crusty -French bread 1.
Step #2 Heart the olive oil in a heavy-bottomed sauce pan over medium heat.
Step #3 Add the onions & garlic & saute for 2 mins, stirring to prevent browning.
Step #4 Add the heavy cream & stir this to mix.
Step #5 Add the cream cheese & whisk until all of the cheese is melted & you have a smooth mixture.

Step #7 Remove the pan from the heat & place the mixture in a bowl.
Step #8 Let it cool for 10 mins at about room temp.
Step #9 Fold in the crabmeat, herbs & Spice upings.
Step #10 Serve as soon as possible or put in the fridge & serve chilled.
Step #11 Accompany with Herb Toasts.

Step #13 preheat your trusty oven to 350 degrees F.

Step #15 mix all of the ingredients except the French bread & let them sit for 15 mins.
Step #16 Slice the bread into thin slices.
Step #17 Lay the slices on a baking sheet & brush the tops with the herbed olive oil.
Step #18 Bake the slices at 250 degrees for 8 to 10 mins or until they are crisply toasted & light golden in color.
Step #19 Note: All crabmeat should be carefully picked over to remove any possible remaining shell.
Step #20 Place the crabmeat in a strainer & press down lightly to extract any extra water.
Step #21 When using lump crab, you want to keep it as intact as possible.
Step #22 Yield: 2 c.
