Cranberry Conserve Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 c Flour
  • 1 c Sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 c Butter or margarine; softened
  • 1/2 ts Salt
  • 1 ts Baking soda
  • 1/2 c Walnuts; sliced
  • 1 Whole berry cranberry sauce
  • 1 ts Almond extract
  • 1 ts Baking powder
  • 1 c Sour cream

Directions
  • Step #1 ---GLAZE------ 1/3 c Confectioners sugar 3 ts Warm water 1/2 ts Almond extract mix first 4 ingredients & set aside.
  • Step #2 Cream butter & sugar until creamy.
  • Step #3 Add eggs, mix well.
  • Step #4 Add mixd flour mixture alternately with sour cream.
  • Step #5 Add extract.
  • Step #6 Spoon one third of batter into a greased 9 inch square baking pan.
  • Step #7 top this with one third of cranberry sauce.
  • Step #8 Repeat layers twice, topping with remaining cranberry sauce.
  • Step #9 Sprinkle top with walnuts.
  • Step #10 bake this at 350 degrees for 55-60 mins or until a toothpick inserted near center comes out clean.
  • Step #11 mix glaze ingredients & drizzle over warm cake.
  • Step #12 Can be served warm or room temperature.
