Creamed Garlic Potatoes Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 ts Shortening; melted
  • 1 tb Ground black pepper
  • 1/2 c Nonfat dry milk
  • 3 3/4 ga Warm water
  • === FOR 4 SERVINGS ===
  • 2 lb Wheat flour
  • 2 1/2 c Warm water
  • 1/3 c All-purpose or bread flour
  • 2 1/2 tb Butter or margarine; softened
  • 1 lb Shortening; melted
  • 3 1/4 lb Nonfat dry milk
  • 7 lb Dried beef; sliced
  • === FOR 100 SERVINGS ===
  • 1/8 ts Ground black pepper
  • 2 pk Sliced dried beef;
  • 2 lb Butter or margarine
  • 1 tb Shortening; plus

Directions
  • Step #1 If beef is salty, rinse in hot water or cover with hot water & let stand 1 our before cooking.
  • Step #2 Drain thoroughly.
  • Step #3 Separate beef into slices.
  • Step #4 Saute slices in shortening until the edges begin to curl.
  • Step #5 Set aside.
  • Step #6 Reconstitute milk with water.
  • Step #7 Heat to just below boiling.
  • Step #8 Do not boil.
  • Step #9 mix butter with flour & pepper; add to milk, stirring constantly.
  • Step #10 Cook 5 mins until thickened.
  • Step #11 Add beef to sauce; mix well.
  • Step #12 Serve hot over toast.
