Creme Brulee Recipe

Ingredients
  • 40 g Light brown sugar.
  • 4 Eggs
  • 50 cl Double cream; .
  • 70 g White sugar.
  • 1 ts Vanilla essence.

Directions
  • Step #1 1 Preheat the oven (gas mark 4 / 350F / 180C).
  • Step #2 2 Beat the eggs & white sugar with a fork in a bowl until the mixture whitens.
  • Step #3 Add the cream & vanilla essence, beat thoroughly to mix the ingredients well.
  • Step #4 3 Pour the mixture into ovenproof ramekin dishes & put them in a bain-marie in the oven for 1 hr.
  • Step #5 remove this from the oven & allow to cool before putting them into the refrigerator.
  • Step #6 4 Just before serving, pour the brown sugar over the top & put the ramekins under the grill for 5 mins so that the sugar forms a caramelised crust.
  • Step #7 Serve as soon as possible.
