Crunchy Apple Pork Chops Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 ts Salt
  • 15 g Fresh yeast;
  • 170 g Plain flour;
  • 340 ml Warm milk;
  • 1/2 ts Bicarbonate of soda
  • 1 ts Caster sugar
  • 170 g Strong white flour;
  • 3 tb Warm water

Directions
  • Step #1 Sift the flour & salt & form a well in the centre.
  • Step #2 Dissolve the yeast & sugar in the warm milk & pour this into the bowl.
  • Step #3 Beat together for a few mins until a smooth batter is made.
  • Step #4 Cover and leave to rise for 1 hr.
  • Step #5 Mix the bicarbonate of soda with the water & beat into the batter for 2-3 mins then cover & leave to rest for 20-25 mins.
  • Step #6 Butter the insides of straight sided rings & lightly butter the griddle.
  • Step #7 Place the rings on the griddle & heat over med-heat/flame.
  • Step #8 Using a dessert spoon drop 2 spoonfuls of the crumpet mixture into each ring.
  • Step #9 Cook for 3 mins until you see bubbles on the surface.
  • Step #10 Remove the rings & turn over & cook for a further 3 mins until cooked.
