Artichokes Alla Romana Recipe

Ingredients
  • 6 Artichokes
  • 2 ts Lemon juice
  • 1 1/2 ts Salt

Directions
  • Step #1 Wash artichokes thoroughly & trim stems to 1 inch.
  • Step #2 Remove tough bottom leaves.
  • Step #3 Trim 1/2-inch from spiked leaf tips with sharp knife or scissors.
  • Step #4 Stand artichokes upright in 1 inch boiling water to which lemon juice & salt have been added.
  • Step #5 --.
  • Step #6 Cover tightly & cook abut 45 mins or until stems easily can be pierced with fork.
  • Step #7 Add water as needed.
  • Step #8 Remove artichokes from water & invert to drain thoroughly.
  • Step #9 Serve hot or chilled with a dip.
