Step #1
Melt butter in a saucepan over med-heat/flame; add sliced onions, carrots, & garlic, & cook for 5 mins, stirring every once in awhile until softened.
Step #2 In a medium-sized cooking pot, add 4 c water & chicken bouillon granules & bring to boil.
Step #3 Add precooked onion mixture to soup pot.
Step #4 Add broccoli florets, reserving a few pieces to be added near the end of cooking time.
Step #5 Reduce heat & let simmer, covered, for 15 to 20 mins or until broccoli is just tender.
Step #6 In a mixer or food processor/blender, puree soup in batches & return to pot.
