Ingredients
  • 1 lb Firm tofu
  • 1/4 c Marinade; homemade or bottled

Directions
  • Step #1 Drain tofu.
  • Step #2 Cut in half horizontally to make 2 pieces.
  • Step #3 Line baking sheet with 5 layers of paper towels.
  • Step #4 Place tofu on towels; cover with extra towel or layer of paper towels.
  • Step #5 Place second baking sheet on top of tofu.
  • Step #6 Place heavy weights (canned goods, cast-iron skillet, bottled water) on top of baking sheet.
  • Step #7 Allow to sit 1 hr or longer (put in the fridge if longer than 1 hr.
  • Step #8 ) Unwrap tofu; remove towels.
  • Step #9 Tofu is ready to be marinated in bottled marinade, barbecue sauce, dry Spice uping mix, a sauce of your own invention or the marinades that follow.
  • Step #10 Marinate tofu for at least 15 mins unput in the fridged or up to 5 days, put in the fridged.
  • Step #11 bake this at 400F degrees on lightly oiled baking sheet for 1 hr.
  • Step #12 The tofu is now ready to be cubed for use in salads, stir fries or stews, sliced thin for use as a sandwich filling; or can be grilled as cutlets.
  • Step #13 Makes 4 servings or about 3 oz each, 3 grams of fat per piece.
